Ramayan
Rama and Sita’s marriage was took place at the Sita’s birth place at Mithila city.
Rama’s father and mothers went Mithila to attend his marriage function.
King Janaka had two daughters viz. Sita and Urmila.
King Janaka’s brother Kushadhwaja had two daughters viz. Mandavi and Shrutikeerti.
Marriages were fixed as follows:
Rama with Sita
Lakshmana with Urmila (Sita’s sister)
Bharata with Mandavi
Shrutikeerti with Shatrughana.
All the four marriages took place in the same roof.
The mothers of the newly married brides taught their daughters how to fulfil their duties towards their husbands. They told them to serve their parents-in-law with devotion.
Rama and Sita lived 12 years of married life in Ayodhya without any trouble.
Maternal Uncle of Bharata and Shatrughana visited Ayodhya.

Guru Vashitha advised King Dasharatha to declare Rama the crown prince of Ayodhya.
